Correct Nutrition for Children
While fruits and vegetables are encouraged as part of a nutritious meal for all ages, it can harm toddler’s health from the ages of one to five years old. High fiber and low calories may put young children at risk for nutritional deficiencies and hinder physical growth. Kids’ developing bodies cannot take in high quantities of fruits and vegetables.
Nursery schools in the UK are serving meals that have too much fiber and too few calories. Such young kids have different nutritional requirements than older kids. The nurseries have been applying nutritional guidelines to young children that are more suitable for older children and adults. Only 30 percent of the schools are providing children with sufficient calories in meals. Pediatric dieticians said schools should offer higher calories, some saturated fat and salt, but lower amounts of vegetables and fruits.
Dieticians suggest small, energy-rich meals should be spread throughout the day, with snacks. Since the hours the nurseries operate are from 7AM to 7PM, children’s diets should be carefully planned because food serves as an important key for their future health and development. 【已有很多网友发表了看法,点击参与讨论】【对英语不懂,点击提问】【英语论坛】【返回首页】
