A Nobel Prize for Medicine has been awarded to three US base scientists Elizabeth Blackburn,Carol Greider and Jack Szostak for their work on chromosomes. The Karolinska institute in Sweden said the three sicentists have solved the major problem in biology how chromosomes are protected against degradation during cell division. Kits Adams reports.
