Job interview questions can be tough, but one of the toughest questions to answer can be about how to describe yourself. If you're a great speaker, or you've got the "gift of the gab" so to speak, then you'll have no trouble speaking about yourself, but this can also be a problem if all you talk about is you!
Here are some tips on how to best get the question answered to the satisfaction of you interviewer, and put yourself in the best light:
1. Work out the most important things to posses in the job and tell them about how you have these qualities. For example: if you believe the most important attributes are to have 1. Good Customer Service, 2. Problem Solving Skills, and 3. Work Well Under Pressure. Then you should give examples of how you are able to do these things. You might say something like: "Well, I relate well to other people and have a great skill of being empathetic. I'm always looking for new ways to do things, so I'm cutting edge and always making forward progress. I'm constantly pushing myself to become better by doing more and more. This gives me the ability to work well under pressure, and discover more about myself quickly." Taylor your answer to the job or position and this is a powerful tactic.
2. Be honest. Nobody wants to employ a liar. Get your facts straight and tell the truth. There's no reason to go out there and tell everybody all the things you're not proud of, but if something comes up then just tell the truth. Nobody does things unless they thought it was the right thing at the time. If you've learned something from the experience then share how you've grown. This will be powerful in developing integrity and growing trust with your employer throughout the future. They'll also find out how you do not profess to be perfect either.
3. Put the response in the positive. Always put the response in the light of how you can benefit the company you're working for. They're most likely not interested in what's in it for you as much as they're interested in what's in it for them. Make sure it's a win-win situation of course, but in the long run, they want to know how you'll fit into their workplace. Be positive with any response and you'll most likely get a positive response. Being diplomatic can give you the edge in any interview. 【已有很多网友发表了看法,点击参与讨论】【对英语不懂,点击提问】【英语论坛】【返回首页】
