我记得我们在初中的英语里面有学过下面一段对话：
A:Excuse me.what time is it now
B:Sorry.my watch doesn't work.
一个人要问现在几点了
可是某人说不好意思，我的手表坏掉了
这里doesn't work意思就是某个东西坏了，不起作用
Sentence pattern:
...doesn't work.……不起作用/坏了。
Note:
在这个句型中，"work"表示“（计划、机器等）行得通、能运转”，主语常用第三人称单数。这是一个非常地道的表达。
This is a very useful expression for Chinese learners. When anything (like a watch) is broken or ruined Chinese use wo de biao huai le, but English has specific phrases for different items. Food:spoiled. Phones and other electric appliance: doesn't work. Watch, jewelry,shoes: broken.
这个句型对中国的学习者非常有用，当某件东西坏了（例如手表），中国人说：“我的表坏了。”
但在英语中对不同的东西有不同的说法。食物用“spoiled”,电话和其他电器用“doesn't work”，手表、珠宝、鞋类用"broken"。
Example:
1)My mobile phone doesn't work.
我的手机坏了。
2)Trying to run away from your problems doesn't work.
试图逃避问题是没有用的。
