OPEC not to increase oil output
OPEC has offered little hope for consumer nations seeking more supply from the producer group to bring crude prices down from ninety US dollars a barrel.
OPEC ministers say they expect no change in output. OPEC President and Algeria's Oil Minister Chakib Khelil says OPEC will make the appropriate decision to stabilize the market in two days.
Alarmed by the growing likelihood of a US recession, oil importers are calling on OPEC to raise production at their meeting in Vienna on Friday. The move aims to ease the impact of high fuel costs on slowing economic growth.
