Hello Kitty: Dream Light Fantasy

The cartoon figure Hello Kitty has won numerous fans across the world over the past three decades, as well as lending her image to a wide range of products. This week, the famous feline met the Beijing audience on stage for the first time.

For die-hard fans of Hello Kitty, the show is a must-see. And these include some top entertainers of the Chinese speaking world, such as Xu Huanhuan, Mai Hongmei and Alec Su.

Alec Su, singer and actor, said, "Hello Kitty made her name long before me. I think that most entertainers don't have a fame as enduring as Hello Kitty's. So I respect Hello Kitty from the bottom of my heart. Also, I've been a fan of Hello Kitty since I was a kid. This is the first time that Hello Kitty has appeared on a Beijing stage. Through the tour, it will entertain the whole world as well as China. I think it is very exciting."

For singer Sun Nan and his actress wife Mai Hongmei, Hello Kitty is also an important part of their lives. Their daughter fell in love with the cartoon character at a very tender age.

Mai Hongmei, actress, said, "She was very young when she first met with Hello Kitty. The singer Na Ying gave her a little suitcase with a Hello Kitty logo. It was the first time I'd seen it. My daughter was about two years old then."

The stage show Dream Light Fantasy was created in Japan and has toured the island country since 2000, to enthusiastic response of its fans. After some revision, it has come to China. The show will tell how Hello Kitty and her many pals save the world from the forces of evil.

In the coming three years, the show will tour the world with over 500 performances in countries that include Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States.
