China's top economic officials gathered in Beijing this week, to work out battle plans for rising food prices in the country.
The meeting was organized by the the National Development and Reform Commission Thursday.
The commission says, China has sufficient grain reserves, while pork production is also recovering. But officials from the meeting stress, the country is still facing surging food products, since it was hit by several natural disasters this year.
Zhang Mao, Vice Minister of NDRC, said, "We are closely watching all the price moves for daily necessities, as well as the prices for fuels, and disaster relief supplies. Price changes for Electricity should also be carefully watched. So we could further improve our plan to handle all the abnormal price fluctuations."

NDRC has ordered all related authorities and regulators to strengthen market controls, while keeping reasonable price adjustments that the country's social development could actually bear.
The Commission adds, the country will continue government intervention in post-quake reconstruction sectors, while balancing the needs and difficulties of vulnerable groups, such as impoverished students and low-income families.
