Heavy fog covers North, Southwest China

Heavy fog has covered large parts of northern China, forcing the closure of highways in Liaoning Province.

The fog also blankets some parts around the mid and lower streams of the Yellow, Huaihe, and Yangtze Rivers. Visibility in some areas is less than 1,000 meters. In Southwest China's Sichuan Province, fog has covered most of the city of Guang'an, with visibility less than 100 meters. Local authorities have warned residents to take precautions.

In the following days, light rain and snow is expected in the north, with temperatures likely to drop by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius.
