China, Ethiopia agree more cooperation

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and his Ethiopian counterpart Seyoum Mesfin made the commitment in Addis Ababa.
Yang Jiechi and Seyoum Mesfin put an emphasis on friendly cooperation. The two sides agreed to work together to push forward the all-round cooperative partnership.
Yang said China's support to Ethiopia will continue to concentrate on priority areas of development, including agriculture and infrastructure. This is to help Ethiopia boost its social and economic development.
Seyoum called China a very important partner not only for Ethiopia but also for Africa. He said China is committed to assisting Africa in the fight against poverty and backwardness. Seyoum said Ethiopia is looking forward to strengthening its cooperation with China.
The two ministers also discussed the situation in Sudan's Darfur and Somalia. Yang Jiechi stressed China's stand to solve African armed conflicts through peaceful means such as dialogue and consultation.
Yang said China will continue to work with the UN, the African Union and the African countries concerned in solving such issues and promoting peace, stability and development in those countries and the African continent as a whole.
