Colombia's navy says rebels have kidnapped 6 Colombian tourists from a Pacific island.

They are among 19 people accosted by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or FARC Sunday.

The navy says the tourists were seized from the beach on Morromico island, off Colombia's coast.

Rebels robbed the group of their cash and cell phones and stole most of the boat's gasoline.

The navy has advised tourists to stay clear of the area where the kidnapping occurred, and to only visit beaches with a military presence.

Last week FARC freed two female hostages after six years in captivity.

This has increased international pressure on Colombia's government to accede to a swap of 44 high-profile hostages.
