Russia rejects Kosovo independence

Russia's Foreign Ministry says its position on the status of Kosovo remains unchanged, and will not recognize Kosovo's unilateral independence.

Deputy Foreign Minister says Russia will consider the unilateral declaration and granting of Kosovo's independence as illegitimate. He adds that Russia should increase its involvement in peacekeeping operations.
