CCB H2 profit rises 51%
China Construction Bank says its second half profits last year jump 51 percent, boosted by higher fee income and margins.
Its second half profit was 34 billion yuan, compared with 23 billion yuan in the second half of 2006. The bank earned 69 billion yuan for the full year of 2007.
China's second largest lender by assets says it held US sub-prime mortgage-backed securities with nominal value of one billion US dollars at the end of 2007, and had booked a 630 million impairment loss for the year on its MBS holdings.
