Afghan suicide attacks kills 1, wounds 5

In Afghanistan, a suicide attack in southwest Helmand province has killed one civilian and wounded five others.

A spokesman for the governor said the suicide bomber drove a motorbike targeting a police truck but missed.

Taliban militants have used an increasing number of suicide attacks in the last two years in their fight against Afghan, US and NATO forces. Sources say more than 1,200 people have died in violence in Afghanistan this year.
