Quake-hit Sichuan to revive tourism
Quake-hit Sichuan province has set up a special team to revive tourism in the region. After assessing the damage, the team will release a 3-year blueprint for the quake-hit area this Sunday. The plan will be posted on websites -- including www.china.travel and www.cstr.gov.cn -- and public opinion will be solicited. The devastating earthquake has caused severe damage to historic sites and other tourism spots.
Places like Dujiangyan Qingcheng Mountain, and Wolong Panda Habitat have been affected. As the sightseeing sites, like Yinchang Valley, which was almost buried by mud flows. The earthquake has caused at least 70 billion yuan, or about 10 billion US dollars, in tourism losses.
