Seychelles global warming defense
Global warming has become an increasingly important issue around the world. The government of the Seychelles is finding new ways to protect its 100 islands from rising sea levels and conserve their environment.
Izra Almaze has never been an early riser. But today the 10-year-old is up at six a-m and looking forward to a field trip organized by her school.
Izra Almaze, said, "You see many animals and it is better than sitting in class."
Today, Izra and her classmates are going to visit the Roche Caiman wetlands, a man-made nature reserve about three kilometers from the capital, Victoria.
After they arrive, they get a briefing on the day's programme.
Then it's time to go to a pond dipping session where they learn about the many creatures that live in the wetlands.
Michael Simeon, said, "Today, I learnt mostly about different types of animals that I never knew in my life. I also learn the type of food that they eat."
