Senior CPC official meets Mauritian PM
Senior official of the Communist Party of China, He Guoqiang, has met with Mauritian Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam. He Guoqiang made a stopover at Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, on his way home from a visit to Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil and Angola.

He Guoqiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, passed on greetings from Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao to Ramgoolam.
He Guoqiang highlighted the steady momentum of the bilateral friendship and cooperation, since China and Mauritius forged diplomatic ties 36 years ago.
The momentum has been evident in recent years through frequent exchanges and cooperation in different fields between the two sides.
He Guoqiang also expressed his appreciation of Mauritius's adherence to the one-China policy.
Ramgoolam, also leader of the Labor Party of Mauritius, said he will continue to push forward the friendly ties between the two countries and between his party and the CPC.
The Mauritian leader, while recalling his visits to China, spoke highly China's development, and the Chinese government's encouragement of its enterprises to invest more in Africa.
Ramgoolam also expressed his sympathy to the victims of the May 12th earthquake in China's Sichuan province and of the recent floods in southern China.
After the meeting, He Guoqiang and Ramgoolam attended a ceremony to sign agreements on bilateral economic and technical cooperation.
