Olympic awarding ceremony volunteer applicants tested

(BEIJING, December 29) -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) held an assessment session to choose the volunteers for the awarding ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games on Friday.

The participants have already offered their voluntary services for the Good Luck Beijing sport events this year. They won the praise from the athletes of different participating countries and regions as well as the spectators.

In their speeches, both Wang Wei, BOCOG executive vice-president and secretary-general, and Jiang Xiaoyu, BOCOG executive vice-president, hoped that the would-be-volunteers would showcase the elegant appearance of the Chinese youths and the demeanor of China, and add glamour to the Olympic Games with their beautiful smiles.

The participants faced a strong lineup of panelists from more than ten professional organizations, several Chinese Olympic champions and other celebrities.
