Tourism festival opens at scenic resort

From Henan we move south and on into Southwest China's Sichuan province. One of the country's most popular tourist destinations has launched a major festival to attract winter sightseers.

The Sichuan Jiuzhaigou Waterfall Tourism Festival opened on Wednesday. It drew sightseers from home and abroad. Now in its fourth year, the event continues a marvel for tourists as a unique winter spectacle.

Since the inaugural of the event, the Jiuzhaigou resort has sought an average annual growth rate of eleven percent, in terms of visitors. This year's festival expects more than 150 thousand visitors.
