Nadal wins first grass-court title
Rafael Nadal owns his first grass-court title. He beat Serbia's second seed Novak Djokovic 7-6, 7-5 in a thrilling Artois Championship final just seven days after winning his fourth French Open title. The top seed became the first player to win at Roland Garros and the Queen's Club in the same year since the tournament began in its current format in 1979.
Djokovic went 3-0 up in the first set and had a chance to claim a double break in the fourth game, but Nadal managed to hold his serve and then broke his Serb opponent. The Spanish top seed took the next three points to win the first set.
Djokovic didn't give up, saving two more break points to make it 4-4 at beginning of the second set. The world number 3 looked to have made the most of his reprieve, breaking to love in the next game only to lose his serve straight back while serving for the set. Then, Nadal took over, holding serve to lead 6-5 and then breaking Djokovic again to secure the victory.
Rafael Nadal said "Thank you very much. It was more than I thought. I couldn't imagine before this tournament. It was a very important tournament for me. I've won my first tournament on grass so."
Novak Djokovic said "I had to go for some shots at important moments. At 5-4 I was serving for the second set and I just had to be aggressive, but I didn't and he used his chances and came back and well done to him." 【已有很多网友发表了看法,点击参与讨论】【对英语不懂,点击提问】【英语论坛】【返回首页】
