The police are checking a car at a checkpoint.
Various types of equipment are employed to detect dangerous materials and dogs are also used to find explosives.
Drivers and passengers have to show their ID cards.
Hundreds of these kinds of check-points have been set up at all entrances to the capital city.
Wang Jun, Beijing Public Security Bureau, said, "We will check every car and every person to ensure a secure environment for the Beijing Olympics."
The public has expressed its support for the measures...despite the longer waiting time caused by the three-minute check of each car.
Driver said, "We accept this...as it's for the Olympic Games."
Passenger said, "This is not a bad thing. It will help ensure everyone's safety." 【已有很多网友发表了看法,点击参与讨论】【对英语不懂,点击提问】【英语论坛】【返回首页】
