Animators impressed with Guiyang
The 2008 Asian Youth Animation Competition has wound up in Guiyang. The event drew master animators from all over the world to the capital of Guizhou Province. And when the work was done, the animation artists headed out doors to record images what touched them most, as they toured the city.

Eighty top animators from the Philippines, Japan, the United States, Malaysia and other countries boarded ship to take a tour, Monday.
They cruised to a serene lake outside Guiyang. The picturesque setting piqued their creative interest.
A Malaysian artist created a piece depicting his view of the famous Huangguoshu Waterfalls.
Later they arrived at a village where member of the Miao ethnic group have lived for generations.
They were welcomed with traditional wine and entertainment. The smiling faces and brilliant attire of the Miao people made their ways to the artists' sketch books.
Most of these master cartoonists sat on the jury panel at the 2008 Asian Youth Animation Competition. Competition organizers were keen for the artists to view the enchanting landscapes and the exotic blend of cultures that characterize Guizhou.
On the closing ceremony of this year's Asian Youth Animation Competition last Friday, prizes were handed out to the most creative minds.
Works from Chinese animators have claimed several big prizes including "Best Technological Creativity", "Best Visual Effect" and "Best Directing" awards.
