With the Games just days away, the city of Beijing is sprucing up to welcome guests from around the globe. Ranging from sculptures to flower beds, all the decorations are characterized by a distinct Chinese flavor.

At Chaoyang Park Bridge along the eastern section of Beijing's Fourth Ring Road, a group of sculptures have been a soothing spectacle for multitudes of motorists. Inspired by the traditional penholder, the artwork invokes images of a classical era of Chinese culture, centuries ago.
Red is perhaps the most visible color across the city. Blended with traditional art forms such as papercuts, the color helps to bring out the charm of the city's past.

And as a symbol of its hospitality for foreign guests, sculptures and wall-paintings have been put on display. They all exemplify diverse variations on the universal theme of celebration. The artwork also makes a point of promoting the Olympic ideal, chronicling the prominent moments in the history of Olympics.
