Five acclaimed opera singers from around the world have joined in a performance called "Dream Under the Olympic Flag" in Beijing. The show went on stage at the National Center for the Performing Arts Monday night.

Five acclaimed opera singers from around the world have  joined in a performance called "Dream Under the Olympic  Flag" in Beijing.

The five opera singers are soprano Barbara Bonney and tenor Charles Castronovo from the United States, mezzo-soprano Olga Borodina from Russia, and baritone Liao Changyong and tenor Dai Yuqiang from China.

The five artists brought their repertoires including excerpts from classical operas such as "Nessun Dorma", and "O Sole Mio". Chinese opera singers also performed well known Chinese folk tunes, like "In a Land Far Far Away". A highlight of the show was the tailored theme "Dream Under the Olympic Flag". The number, composed by Xu Peidong with lyrics by Yan Su, echoed the Olympic Slogan "One World, One Dream".
