Tony-award winner Lea Salonga (Cinderella) and her Australian prince, Peter Saide, attended a press conference to help promote the Broadway musical on Sunday.
To bump up the atmosphere, the duo treated the media to a rendition of the play's famous song "Ten Minutes Ago," accompanied on the piano by musical director Michael Duff.
Lea Salonga remarked that there was a lot of humor in this production, even in the serious scenes.
Wang Ying, general manager of the Beijing Children's Art Theater, a co-sponsor of the play, believes the story has a deeper meaning.
"The musical is a fairy tale about dreams. It is not only for children but for the whole family," said Wang.
"Cinderella" will run at the Beijing Exhibition Theater from October 24 to 30.
