缔造无数纪录的爱尔兰天团西城男孩（Westlife）日前发表声明宣布乐队明年正式进入休整期，而西城男孩在暂别乐坛之前将于明年2012年5月在英国进行一连九场的告别演唱会。

西城男孩表示，将会于今年11月21日发行精选辑《Greatest Hits》，收录14首经典单曲。并将于明年举行九场告别巡演，5月14日在纽卡斯尔的Metro Radio Arena拉开序幕，之后再利物浦、加迪夫、伯明翰、伦敦和曼切斯特，最后一站定于5月27日在苏格兰格拉斯哥。西城男孩同时指出，暂别乐坛的决定是几个人共同讨论作出的，“因为我们都觉得，现在的我们需要一次喘息的机会，并打算寻求一些其他尝试。尽管这是我们成军后最为冒险的一次决定，但毕竟，在这几年我们也成长成为真正的男人，而我们希望这个决定能够得到乐迷的支持。这些年，西城男孩不仅仅是一支享誉盛名的男孩乐队，我们更像一家人。这里我们特别需要感谢陪着我们成长的乐迷，感谢他们在过去的日子陪伴着我们走过这些美妙的历程。而西城男孩自1998年成军到现在的14年期间，我们从未间断的录制新专辑，进行巡演以及出席各样的公开活动，让我们实现了很多现在也无法想象的梦想。但是现在，我们是时候需要暂别乐坛了。”
