Iran, Syria sign defense memorandum

Iran and Syria have signed a memorandum of understanding on the expansion of military and technical cooperation.

The document was inked in Tehran on Tuesday by Iranian Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar and visiting Syrian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Hassan Ali Turkmani.

The new document calls for the restoration of long-term peace and security in the region, the exchange of high-ranking defense officials and experts, and an expansion of technical and training courses.
