Snowstorm hits Chicago

A snowstorm is sweeping through the Great Lakes region, causing more delays and cancellations for holiday travellers.

More than 400 flights have been cancelled at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

The storm has left several centimeters of snow in the region. Officials are advising travellers to check the status of their flights, but the warnings didn't come soon enough for many passengers.

The snow and wind has reduced visibility in some areas to just a few hundred meters. The storm has also caused numerous traffic accidents in Kansas and Missouri.
