Guidelines: Too much oil in Chinese diet
China's Health Ministry has released a survey about the changes in the diets of the country's citizens over the past decade. The results show Chinese people are eating more healthily but there are still problems.
The survey shows the average height of Chinese teenagers has increased due to a more nutritious diet compared to their parents' generation.
In rural areas, poor nutritional habits are common. And in urban areas, the number of people suffering from chronic diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes is increasing.
The Ministry has issued guidelines to remind Chinese citizens of the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. The guidelines recommend that people should reduce the amount of cooking oil in their diet and increase their consumption of dairy products.
