Cargo plane crashes in Belgium

A large cargo plane has crashed at the end of a runway and split in two while trying to abort a take off at Brussels airport.

The Boeing 747 skidded to a halt in a field at the end of a runway on Sunday afternoon. Four of the five crew members on board were slightly injured and were hospitalized.

The aircraft is a transit plane from the United States to Bahrain and makes regular flights from Brussels. It is not yet clear what caused the crash, but the pilot said he heard a large noise while trying to take off.
