Schalke prepare for Chelsea´s visit

Schalke 04 also held their training session. Mirko Slomka's side currently sit bottom in the group standings after losing away to Chelsea two weeks ago. And with a trip to Valencia to come, the "royal blues" need to make home advantage count on Tuesday night. Reaching the last 16 was always the club's aim for the season and failure to achieve that target could cost Slomka his job.

Mirko Slomka, Schalke coach, said, "Generally speaking the odds are 50 - 50 when you start a match. And it will stay like that although we miss a lot of players and although we will face an extraordinarily strong opponent."
