Fashion in 2007
Turbulence, with all its ups and downs marked the fashion world in 2007. On the upside came Kate Moss's Topshop range. On the down, Isabella Blow's death from an overdose and the death of Uruguayan model Eliana Ramos from anorexia.
Kate Moss' collection for Topshop was one of the most highly anticipated collections to hit the high street. May 1st, fashionistas from everywhere flocked to Topshop's flagship store on London's Oxford Street for the opening. Kate Moss was there too.
The collection continues to be popular, offering shoppers a glimpse into the wardrobe styles of one of the world's most elusive and admired models. Kate Moss is also considered one of the best dressed women in the world.
Stylist and fashion guru Isabella Blow, died from an overdose in May. Blow, a vibrant and sometimes outrageous presence on the British fashion scene had just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was 48.
Another shocking loss for the fashion world, the death of Uruguayan model Eliana Ramos. She died of a heart attack brought on by anorexia nervosa, months after her sister, another model, died from the same eating disorder.
Their deaths once again heated up the issue over the fashion industry's preference for models who are rake thin. The treatment of young models in Latin America has been a subject of particular debate since anorexia caused the deaths of model Ana Carolina and three other Brazilian women. 【已有很多网友发表了看法,点击参与讨论】【对英语不懂,点击提问】【英语论坛】【返回首页】
