Trial runs for Olympic line set for June

Not only has Beijing built the most modern airport terminal in record time, the city has also been busy extending its subway lines. Officials say the Beijing Olympic Subway extension line will definitely be operational in time for the Big Games. And interior decoration for the carriages has entered the final stage this week.

The 4.4 kilometer line begins from Beitucheng in North Beijing, and travels underground through the National Aquatics Center, the Olympic Center which includes the National Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Park, and the Forest Park.

The four stops will each have a distinct theme of its own, such as an ocean-themed, sports-themed or a forest-like decor. Trial runs are scheduled to begin in June.
