Zipper brings winter trends

After 14 years' development, SBS from China's eastern Fujian province has become the world's second biggest zipper company. The brand has shown its trends in Beijing along with China's famous young designer Yang Ziming, better known as Mr. Carbeen, who staged a collection in New York Fashion week last year, and also released his 2008/09 autumn/winter collection in the capital.

Zippers may be one of the most practical inventions of the 20th century. And they can be as fashionable as they are functional. They can be mixed into sportswear and even haute couture. Smart designs and skill can make zippers look like glamorous jewelry. Cutting-edge technology is added to make zippers invisible, waterproof and fire proof.

Mr.Carbeen is back with a fancy new dream with the mysterious universe serving as inspiration. Models walk around a huge space capsule which is set in the center of the stage.

The garments absorb elements from space suits as the shiny-gray material is made into bags, shirts and coats. The exaggerated collar shows the cool style which Carbeen is aiming for.

A full house of 2,000 audience members experienced a journey into the future and space, which ended as the spacecraft opened with models and designer Yang Ziming inside. ZS CCTV
