Finally, Du Li could smile again as she had in Athens, where the markswoman won the first gold for the Chinese delegation.
But the triumph of four years ago seemed to add lots of pressure as she took aim for the medal campaign in Beijing.
After the first day's failure, it was easy to see her dejection.
Du Li, the shooting gold medalist, said "I felt the past five days were even longer than the difficult four years between the two Games."
The medalist said although she burst into tears in the first day, it wasn't because she didn't try her best.

"I missed the gold in the first day, but I did do my best. I can't say it's a failure."
And she's extremely grateful for the support from all the people around her.
"These days, everyone I meet are very nice to me. Yesterday I didn't do very well in the training. I almost wanted to give up. But the volunteers, the spectators, and my teammates have all been encouraging me with greeting cards. That helps me get through." 【已有很多网友发表了看法,点击参与讨论】【对英语不懂,点击提问】【英语论坛】【返回首页】
