3.The Crow and the Pitcher 口渴的乌鸦
　　A crow felt very thirsty. He looked for water everywhere. Finally, he found a pitcher.
　　一只乌鸦口渴了，到处找水喝。 终于，他找到了一个大水罐。
　　But there was not a lot of water in the pitcher. His beak could not reach it. He tried again　　然而，水罐里面的水并不多，他的尖嘴够不到水面， 他试了一次又一次，
　　and again, but still could not touch the water.
　　都没有成功。
　　When he was about to give up, an idea came to him. He took a pebble and dropped it into the pitcher.
　　就在他想放弃的时候，他突然想到一个主意。乌鸦叼来了一块小石子投到水罐里，
　　Then he took another and dropped it in.
　　接着又叼了一块又一块石头放进去。
　　Gradually, the water rose, and the crow was able to drink the water.
　　渐渐地，水面升高了。乌鸦高兴地喝到了水。
　　Aesop’s Fables （选自《伊索寓言》）伊索Aesop【’i:scp】，公元前6世纪希腊寓言家。据历史学家记载，他原是萨摩斯岛雅德蒙家的奴隶，曾被转卖多次，但因为富有智慧，聪颖过人，最后获得自由。成为自由人后，伊索四处漫游，为人们讲述寓言故事，深受古希腊人民的喜爱。
　　伊索小时候长的很丑，大家都不喜欢他。不过他妈妈喜欢讲故事给他听。另外，他长大了在田里干活时，看到的有趣事物，大部分都被他编成精彩的故事。他的故事都是口授，可见他的记忆力有多强！而且，他曾经是个哑巴，但后来竟奇迹般的恢复了声音，这就是所谓的善有善报吧！她的大多数故事是讽刺权贵尖狡、愚蠢，赞扬劳动人民勤劳、聪明。
