China expects good rapeseed harvest
China is expecting another good harvest this year. Figures from the Ministry of Agriculture show that rapeseed output for this summer season is expected to reached 11.8 million tons, up almost half a million tons from the same period last year.
While oil product prices in China have increased more than a third this season. Farmers say the average prices for the plant are up more than 40 percent year on year. But the central government is subsidizing Yangtze River region growers to expand rapeseed plantations.
Between 2001 to 2006, China's rapeseed output reached a peak in 2004 at 13.2 million tons, before retreating these last 3 seasons.
Experts believe the harvest this year will help to somewhat relieve food price inflation. 【已有很多网友发表了看法,点击参与讨论】【对英语不懂,点击提问】【英语论坛】【返回首页】
