McCain heckled by anti-war protesters
Presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain was heckled by anti-war protesters in Washington during a speech to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.
McCain was interrupted by the hecklers on Saturday as he talked about the US troops stationed in Iraq. One woman walked up to the stage, shouting at him in Spanish to "stop the slaughter". Another protester also spoke up as McCain concluded his speech. She told the Arizona senator that he should bring the troops home, and lead the country out of Iraq.
McCain's speech was part of the Association's 25th annual conference, a four-day convention that involves nearly one-thousand Latino public officials working at all levels of government across the United States. Presumptive Democratic nominee, Barack Obama, is also expected to speak at the event.
